With the Donnerkogel cable car in Annaberg-Lungötz, you can comfortably reach the beautiful Dachstein West hiking area around the Gosaukamm and Zwieselalm – one of the most popular destinations in the Lammertal region of Salzburg. The mountain station at 1,475 meters above sea level is the perfect starting point for leisurely hut tours, scenic hikes across blooming alpine meadows, and breathtaking panoramic views of the Dachstein, Großglockner, and the surrounding mountains.

A special highlight awaits families from summer 2026: the new “Fuxi’s Adventure Trail” on the Donnerkogel. Starting directly at the mountain station, this family-friendly trail leads to the Rottenhof Hut and combines nature, play, and activity into an unforgettable mountain experience.

Olympic Champion Marcel Hirscher is with you

Comfortably by Donnerkogelbahn to the wonderful far and view and that with prominent accompany: The gondola with the No. 1 was dedicated to Marcel Hirscher, the eight times overall World Cup winner, world champion and double Olympic champion.

The gondola with the number 37 was designed by Prof. Gottfried Kumpf, an internationally renowned artist born in Annaberg.

Another gondola shows the successful team of EC Red Bull Salzburg.

The transportation of baby carriages on the Donnerkogelbahn Annaberg and Hornbahn Russbach is free of charge. Dogs can be transported on the summer lifts. Dogs must be kept on a leash and muzzle. The ticket for an ascent and descent on the Donnerkogelbahn Annaberg is also valid for the descent on the Hornbahn Rußbach.
The pick-up train "Bummelzug Ameisenexpress" (from the Hornbahn mountain station - at an additional cost) is in operation.

Every quarter of an hour (every 15 minutes) the Gosaukammbahn takes hikers from Gosausee to the Zwieselalm / in the Dachstein West hiking region. In the mountain station of the Gosaukammbahn free cross-country pushchairs are available to borrow.
